The Tensor Shoulder Repair System is comprised of the following:

ATO RCR with Tensor Shoulder Repair System provides:

  • Less postoperative pain than anchors
  • Improved healing characteristics
  • Biomechanics not dependent on “rows” or “anchor number”
  • Ability to work with any technique
  • Matching of bone-tendon modulus / better load sharing
  • Ease of use with biologics, uses patient’s own stem cells
  • Ease of revision, with no tendon transection
  • Ability to resist cyclic failure
  • MRI compatibility
  • Restoration of native footprint
  • Significantly decreased cost

Tensor Shoulder Repair System Components:

The Tensor Shoulder Repair System uses the TransOs Tunneler to pass suture transosseously through lateral bone tunnel to medial bone tunnel with minimal steps. Tensor Tunneler Standard Hook creates a 10-17mm bone bridge.

The Tunneler Standard Hook is used to pass suture between the lateral and medial bone tunnels when a deep set lateral tunnel is not desired.

The Awl Inserter makes a 1.9mm hole and is used to push suture through Tunneler into lateral tunnel to meet tip of the Standard Hook, where suture picked up by hook tip.

The Medial Awl is used to create a 2.9mm hole in desired location to receive Tunneler tip and suture.

Tensor Shoulder Repair System Procedure Overview:

1. Prepare Tunneler:

a. Load suture on Awl Inserter by doubling over and hooking loop into mouth of Awl Pusher, then pulling suture back and into slot in Awl Inserter handle.

b. Pull back thumb lever on Tunneler to “cocked” position and place Awl Inserter into Tunneler with mouth up until it stops and engages the handle grooves – Tunneler is now loaded and ready to use.

2.

Make a 1cm vertical incision lateral to greater tuberosity with low trajectory superior to the greater tuberosity.

3.

Using Tensor 2.9mm Medial Awl, create medial tunnel(s) into medial tunnel site until tip is buried and hard stop is flush with bone surface.

4.

Insert tip of Tunneler into incision, then twist 180 degrees to articulate with the medial tunnel.

5.

Viewing tip through scope camera, insert tip of Tunneler into the medial tunnel, using thumb lever, advance inner guide sleeve and tooth to grip lateral face of tuberosity, adjusting as required.

6.

Apply firm forward pressure on thumb lever to lock Tunneler onto bone and hammer Awl Inserter into bone until flush with the back of Tunneler handle.

7.

Carefully remove suture from Awl Inserter slot and remove Awl Inserter from Tunneler by pulling firmly backwards.

8.

Use thumb lever to withdraw inner guide sleeve and tooth and remove Tunneler tip from joint leaving suture in tip.

9.

Remove suture from tip by tugging firmly in backwards motion to pass required amount of suture through tunnel with suture shuttle.

10.
