FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TENSOR SURGICAL PRESENTS TENSOR SHOULDER REPAIR SYSTEM AT IX MEETING OF THE MEXICAN SOCIETY OF SHOULDER AND ELBOW SURGEONS IN CANCUN, MEXICO

Significant interest in arthroscopic tunneling for rotator cuff repair
Chattanooga, Tenn. – September 4, 2019 –

Tensor Surgical, Inc., maker of the Tensor Shoulder Repair System, a reusable arthroscopic transosseous rotator cuff repair system, announced that Tensor Surgical and Dr. Brett Sanders presented along with an international group of leading arthroscopic orthopaedic surgeons at the 9th Annual Meeting of the Mexican Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, September 4-7 in Cancun, Mexico.

The 9th Annual Mexican Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons was organized and led by widely-renowned Dr. Michell Ruiz. The annual meeting highlighted new developments regarding the transosseous techniques and clinical results for rotator cuff repair.

The meeting also featured Drs. Don Buford and Kevin Plancher from the US. Dr. Sanders presented his extensive experience in transosseous repair, using the Tensor Shoulder Repair System, an arthroscopic transosseous tunneling technique with specialized reusable instrumentation. He demonstrated significantly less postoperative pain and easier revisions with
transosseous repair using suture compared transosseous repairs with previously published anchor repairs. His clinical evidence demonstrates healing characteristics of transosseous repairs have fewer partial failures than anchor-based repairs. Long-term results were found to have a mean ASES score of 92 at follow up.

Dr Sanders also presented the true transosseous hybrid anchor technique for utilizing the strengths of both anchors and tunneling together to maximize clinical outcomes and decrease costs. Panel discussions focused on the merits of contrasting transosseous techniques, as well as their relative strengths and weaknesses.

The Tensor transosseous value proposition was well received, especially when most ambulatory surgery centers pay double for anchors compared with Tensor. Tensor Surgical is in the process of obtaining approval to move forward with value-based cuff repair in both South America and Mexico.
